Hi, I’m Caley — the photographer and storyteller behind Black Elephant Photography.
I’m a wife, a mom, and someone who has always been drawn to the quiet beauty in everyday life. I love traveling and experiencing new places, but if you asked me my favorite, I’d tell you it’s wherever I am in that moment.
At home, life moves at a different rhythm. We have a small farm and a mix of animals, which means the days are full, a little untamed, and always unfolding in their own way. It’s not perfect, and it’s not meant to be — and I think that’s where the beauty is.
Photography has always been part of my story. My dad and grandfather were both photographers, and it was something I was lucky enough to share with them. They taught me not just how to take a photo, but how to see — to notice the subtle, fleeting moments that might otherwise be missed, and to understand what’s truly worth remembering.
That perspective shapes everything I do.
I’ve learned that the most meaningful moments are rarely the ones we plan.
I’m not drawn to perfectly curated images or forced moments. I’m drawn to what’s real — the connection, the movement, the unspoken moments that unfold naturally….
This is me
Because life isn’t meant to fit into a box — and neither are the people in it.
My goal is simple: to create images that feel like you.
The kind your family will look back on years from now and be brought right back to how it felt — not just how it looked.
If that’s what you’re looking for, you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
No boxes. No pressure. Just you.
This is my Husband John and I.
